This GPU is presented by NVIDIA GeForce 6600GT 128MB GDDR3 (500/1000 MHz) PCI-Express reference card.
Features:
- NVIDIA GeForce 6600GT GPU (8 pixel and 3 vertex pipelines), 500 MHz clock;
- 128MB GDDR3 memory in Samsung BGA chips. 500 (1000) MHz memory clock.
- 128-bit bus;
- Peak fill rate in the multitexturing mode without optimizations is 4000 megapixels/sec and 4000 megatexels/sec.
By the end of the month the product costs $200-240, supports DirectX 9.0c (shaders 3.0).
This novelty entered testing early in September 2004. Designed for middle-end segment, it has only PCI-E interface for now.
This $200-220 product is rather successful and outperforms previous-generation high-end cards.
