This novelty was first tested early in March 2006. It's intended for the middle-end segment ($170-200).
The card is rather successful and easily outperforms higher-end rivals of the previous generation in terms of performance and features.

On March 15, 2007 the latest drivers from NVIDIA were 97.92 WHQL release (for 8800 series), 93.81 beta (for other series) for Windows XP, 101.41 beta for Windows Vista.
