to use the corresponding cable.

The following information on the drive is obtained
with the Drive check utility:
- Vendor : PIONEER
- Product : DVD-ROM DVD-116
- Firmware version : 1.22
- Buffer size : 256 KBytes
- Maximum read speed : 7060 KBytes/sec (40 X)
- CDDA accurate : yes
- C2 pointers : no
- Speed settings : 15 X
- Read RAW mode : yes
The drive doesn't support C2 error correction,
therefore, it can't detect and correct group errors. Usually it
is used by programs of audio track extraction.

DVD-Video playback with the Cyberlink PowerDVD
2.55
The DVD-Video was played without any problems;
no artifacts were noticed. Changing of the layer didn't affect the
quality of reproduction.
Noise characteristics.
- Tray - 7/10
- CD
- Seek - 6/10
- Total noise - 6/10
- DVD
- Seek - 7/10
- Total noise - 6/10
At the maximum speed the noise level was quite
high. Speed reduction is possible only with the CDBremse program
to 15X.
Vibration
When working with badly balanced CDs the drive
didn't shine. It vibrated quite much. However, vibration didn't
prevent from reading discs at a high speed.
Thermal conditions.
There are no any complains about its thermal conditions.
The data were read after an intensive 2-hour operation:
T inside the case - 36°C
T of the upper surface - 41°C
T of the lower surface - 42°C
Possibility to make the drive region free (RPC-1).
According to www.firmware.fr.st,
you can change the firmware version to make the drive region free.
