The Palm family shown off had no new models. At
their stand they showed Palm m130 and m515. They certainly demonstrated
all old models; nothing new except expansion modules which are much
spoken about.
Sony unveiled NV70 - a very interesting model coming with a color display
typical of T615 and T625.
The displayed T425 and T625 are analogs of the T415 and T615; the new
models have a different marking as they are meant for Europe. The price
recommended for end-users is 300 and 500 euros. I think it's quite expensive
taking into account that their competitors are available at lower prices.
The following presentation sets attracted not only my attention - apart
from PDAs they include such accessories as a camera designed for a MemoryStick
slot.
Here are the PDAs with the attached accessories.
Apart from the company's accessories which allow us to turn the device
into a digital camera or equip it with Bluetooth functions, there were
a lot of devices from third companies, for example from Pretec. For example,
they showed an adapter able to read SD/MMC and MemoryStick cards;
the adapter was attached through the CompactFlash slot.
DS International which deals in production of metallic cases for PDAs
called PocketArmor have also arrived at the display. I think that the price
is quite high for their quality - 40 to 50 euros. But such covers can house
Compaq iPaq devices together with their jackets.
