Character and technique of recording:
What the PX-W2410A differs in from its closest competitors
24x TDK and
Sanyo is its ability to record at 1x (!) and 20x.
Besides, the PleXWriter carries 4 MBytes of buffer memory, unlike 2 MBytes of its
competitors.
The PleXWriter supports such technologies as Zone-CLV and
PowerRec II.
Zone-CLV (Zone Constant Linear Velocity) is a method when
a disc is divided into three parts which are burnt at different speeds
starting from 16X, then 20X, and, at last, 24x. The BURN-Proof
is activated to get onto the next stage without damaging a CD-R.
According to Sanyo, you won't get burn-through here.
PowerREC II (Plextor Optimized Writing Error Reduction
Control)
— this technology is identical to the JustSpeed from Ricoh intended
to get the optimal quality on any media type in the whole range of speeds.
The set of accessories is not abundant but it is sufficient.
Here is what the Nero says about the PX-W2410A:
We were lucky to get two drives in question, and one of them was demounted.
The CD-RW doesn't make much noise, and even at high speeds it doesn't
vibrate.
Its appearance is not outstanding, except the impressive label.
Apart from standard connectors and a digital-out the rear panel has a fan
which works rather quietly.
