The appearance of the SCSI-drive is much different from the analog model with IDE interface not only in design features of the front panel but also in a more informative indication system. The front panel is similar to its elder SCSI sibling - the PlexWriter PX-W124Tsi, it contains 4 LEDs giving the full possible information on the CD-RW drive status. All buttons are sunk accurately. Another difference from the PlexWriter PX-W1210TA concludes in that the PX-W1210Si has a Play/Next button on the front panel for controlling an audio CD without OS interference (5). By the way, this button can be rarely come across on the CD-RW recorders. Headphone jack (2) and volume control (3) are also sunk. The tray (1) is completely goes inside the case without even a customary prominent part. The drive can be installed both in horizontal and in vertical positions, for what it's supplied with two spring clamps. They don't provide proper CD mounting, though.

The rear panel is typical for the SCSI recorder, but for one thing - this model is noticeable for a fan. Despite the simplicity, the user's manual offers the detailed information on all connectors.

The special attention is paid to a SPDIF output and its connection.

Plextor company offers also an external solution of the model under consideration.

Overburn CD-R Philips Silver on this drive gained 2 min. 25 sec. (77:08.22)
