Complete set:

  • Drive in antistatic package.
  • CD with drivers and program for recording and creating CDs - EasyCD Creator 4.02c, DirectCD 3.01c and Toast 4.1 of Adaptec.

The main reason the drive is wide spread is that the majority are delivered in ΞΕΜ package.

It's interesting that together with the software for PC the disc contains Toast 4.1, which is intended for disc recording under MacOS.

Beside the programs for disc recording there is a good collection of mp3 soundtracks!

The design is a little unusual: the tray panel is even. At the same time, on the site of Yamaha, CRW8824E copies the design of the previous models.

We should notice, that SCSI-analog has a usual design with roundish shape. Other features remain the same. The front panel includes: two indicators (On/Disc and Read/Write), each works in red/green color mode; headphones jack, volume control, emergency ejection hole and a little sunk open button. The tray has a deeper hole than usual CD-ROM and other CD-RW drives have; it goes out fast, slowing to the end. The drive can be installed only in horizontal position.

It characterized by low noise and vibration level.

On Yamaha site we have found the information on support of recording on 700 Mb CDs. There is a digital output and a cooler on the rear panel.
