Sony Xperia Tablet Z Global Launch
Today at MWC Sony demonstrated the Xperia Tablet Z, 10.1-inch Android tablet, presented in Japan last month, 6.9mm thick and weighting 495 g.
Sony Xperia tablet Z offers a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro 1.5GHz processor, runs Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and it has immunity to spills and splashes thanks to IP55/IP57 water resistance.
Full specifications of the novelty include:
- Scratch-resistant 10.1-inch 1920x1200 display
- Quad-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro SoC
- 2GB RAM
- IP55/IP57 (fully dunkable in up to 3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes)
- 2.2mp front and 8mp back cameras with Sony's low-light technology, Exmor R and Superior Auto, which optimizes scenes to produce pictures with reduced noise.
- Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
- Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, LTE, NFC, gyroscope, accelerometer, aGPS

Sony announced that Xperia Tablet Z will be available globally since spring starting at $499 for 16GB and $599 for the 32GB version. A white 32GB version will be exclusively available at both online and brick-and-mortar Sony stores.
