Xplore Technologies Unveils Rugged Tablet PC iX104C5
You are probably used to seeing how tablet PCs get cheaper and cheaper as more and more of them are released. Well, how about $7299 for a change? This week, Xplore Technologies introduced a new rugged tablet PC iX104C5.
Xplore Technologies iX104C5 has a 10.4-inch XGA display (resolution 1024x768) and is based on Intel Core i7-620UE 2.13 GHz processor, up to 8GB RAM, and an SSD drive (can also have two in a RAID array). Also included are: GPS, Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth 2.1 and 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, and a Gobi 2000 3G module.
A rugged device, the tablet PC is MIL-STD-810G and IP67 tested and can withstand blowing rain, sand and dust, vibrations, salt fog, shocks and drops on concrete floor from as high as 1.2 meters (2.13 meters if dropped on plywood) — all that while operating. Sized 284.4 x 209.5 x 40.7 mm, it weighs 2.27 kg.
The novelty can be equipped with a 10-cell hot-swappable battery which will be enough for 6.5 hours of operation, and works under Windows 7. The cheapest configuration costs $3299, the most expensive, $7299, as stated above.
