Razer Unleashes Razer Hydra Motion-Sensing Controllers
Razer announced today Razer Hydra, its first set of two gaming motion-sensing controllers powered by Sixense. The novelty is available standalone or bundled exclusively with Valve's Portal 2.
Razer Hydra lets you extend your body motions directly into PC games. In Portal 2 this means you can interact with physics puzzles, shoot portals and leap across wide chasms in three dimensions. Aside from Portal 2, Razer Hydra is optimized for over 125 popular PC games, including titles like Left 4 Dead 2 and World of Goo.
Controller features:
- Thumb-ergonomic analog stick for fluid control
- 4 Hyperesponse action buttons
- Rapid-fire trigger and a bumper for faster in-game response
- Non-slip satin grip surface
- True six degree-of-freedom magnetic motion tracking
- Lightweight, anti-tangle braided cable
Base station features:
- Low-power magnetic field, low power consumption
- Ultra-precise sensor for 1-mm and 1-degree tracks
- No line of sight to controllers required
- Low latency feedback
Pre-orders for Razer Hydra will be accepted from May, and shipments will start in June 2011. Razer Hydra and Portal 2 bundle will cost 139.99 EUR (204 USD).
