Motherboard Prices To Increase Again In May
The deficit of parts caused by earthquakes in Japan will be the reason for the second increase in prices states the source, referring to industry representatives. The first signs will become noticeable in the second half of April, and the increase will become obvious in May. Prices for certain materials used in production have already risen.
Prices are estimated to increase by 3-8%. Further correction will be made monthly based on cost of parts.
As you may know, motherboard prices increased early this year due to labor shortage and rise in production material costs. Motherboard manufacturers, including ASUS and Gigabyte Technology, increased prices by 5-10%. However, that was compensated by the reduction of prices for other PC parts, so buyers of ready machines hardly noticed any difference.
