Creative Introduces Zen X-Fi Style, ZEN Style Portable Media Players

Creative Technology today announced the release of the Creative ZEN X-Fi Style and the Creative ZEN Style series of portable media players.

The Creative ZEN X-Fi Style portable media player brings the sound quality of Creative ZEN X-Fi2 to a new level of affordability - in an updated player with a stylish form factor. The novelty supports X-Fi Crystalizer that is claimed to restore the lost details of music you're listening to. Moreover, X-Fi Expand is called to make you feel like listening to a pair of high-end speakers, not headphones.

Note that FM radio and movies will also be processed by the X-Fi technology.



Creative ZEN X-Fi Style features:

  • Bright 2.4-inch TFT display, 320 x 240 pixels, 262K colors;
  • Size, weight: 83.6 x 48.7 x 11.7mm, 56 g;
  • X-Fi technology;
  • PAL/NTSC output (via A/V cable; sold separately);
  • Up to 25 hours of audio, up to 5 hours of video playback;
  • FM radio (32 stations), alarm clock, calendar, contact, task list, voice recorder, album art;
  • 8GB (S$159), 16GB (S$199), 32GB (S$249);
  • Audio formats: P3, WMA (DRM9), WAV (IMA-ADPCM), Audible4, AAC (non-protected (.M4A) from iTunes Plus), FLAC (up to 1.1Mbps);
  • Image formats: JPEG, BMP (TIFF, GIF, PNG to be converted with bundled software);
  • Video formats: up to 640x480 pixels, WMV9, MPEG4-SP, DivX 4/5 and XviD (XviD encoded files are playable if they are encoded as standard MPEG-4 Simple (SP) or Advanced Simple Profile (ASP) without GMC and QPEL support);
  • 5-band equalizer, 8 presets;
  • Built-in speaker;
  • Playback of downloaded RSS feeds;
  • USB 2.0 interface, charges via PC-USB or ZEN USB power adapter (sold separately);
  • Available in black and white for the 8GB, 16GB and 32GB models. Also available in red for the 8GB and 16GB models exclusively at www.creative.com/shop.

In turn, the Creative ZEN Style series comprises the Creative ZEN Style 100 and Creative ZEN Style 300. The latter has all the features of the former and is further enhanced with a built-in speaker and FM radio.



Creative ZEN Style 100/Creative ZEN Style 300 features:

  • Bright 1.8-inch TFT display, 128x160 pixels, 64K colors;
  • Size, weight: 79.5 x 40 x 13.6 mm, 44 g;
  • Up to 32 hours of music playback from a single charge (@128kbps MP3);
  • 4GB (S$89/S$109), 8GB (S$119/S$139), 16GB (S$159/S$179);
  • Audio formats: MP3, WMA (DRM9), WAV (IMA-ADPCM), Audible4;
  • Image formats: JPEG (BMP, TIFF, GIF, PNG converted to JPEG by means of supplied software);
  • Video formats: converted AVI (CMV, requires a corresponding codec on PC);
  • 5-band equalizer, 8 presets, Bass Boost, Smart Volume, Restrict Volume;
  • Built-in speaker, FM radio (32 stations) (Creative ZEN Style 300 only);
  • Alarm clock, calendar, contact, task list, voice recorder, album art;
  • User key to bind a favorite function to;
  • USB 2.0 interface, charges via PC-USB or ZEN USB power adapter (sold separately);
  • Available in black (Creative ZEN Style 300). Available in black for the 4GB model and in black, white and blue for the 8GB and 16GB models (Creative ZEN Style 100).

The Creative ZEN X-Fi Style and Creative ZEN Style series of portable media players will be available from end April 2010 onwards at sg.store.creative.com.
