ZOTAC GeForce 9800 GTX+ AMP! Edition: Overclocking an Overclocked Card
It seems ZOTAC decided to sell the same graphics card under two different names.
While GeForce 9800 GTX+ is a significantly overclocked 9800 GTX, ZOTAC 9800 GTX AMP! Edition and 9800 GTX+ AMP! Edition are essentially identical.
Perhaps, the company hasn't expected NVIDIA to release an overclocked 9800 GTX. And since they couldn't overclock a G92b-based solution higher than 750/1,890/2,300 MHz (GPU/shader/memory; vs. NVIDIA's standard 738/1,836/2,200 MHz), ZOTAC had to choose: either not to release 9800 GTX+ AMP! Edition at all, or make it the same as 9800 GTX AMP! Edition. Seemingly, they chose the latter.
Thus, we might get the first "overclocked" GeForce 9800 GTX+ in the market, while its "+", comparing to 9800 GTX AMP! Edition, means no performance increase at all.
