AMD Radeon HD 2950 Pro: Photos And Images Of Radeon HD 2900Pro Successor — Cormac @ 17:48
Though AMD Radeon HD 2900Pro graphics cards haven't made their way to retail yet, many already predict a short life cycle to them. The reason is the more powerful AMD Radeon HD 2950 Pro based on RV670 GPU expected late in 2007 or early in 2008. Our colleagues from Chiphell have recently posted some photos and images of this novelty:
Note the single-slot cooling system and just one additional power connector. This indicates relatively low power consumption and possible issues with overclocking - obviously it will have just a minimal power reserves, like Radeon X1950 GT/Pro.
The RV670 that features 320 stream processors will be a foundation of two cards: Radeon HD 2950 Pro (Revival) and Radeon HD 2950 GT (Gladiator). The Revival will have 750 MHz GPU / 900 MHz memory clock rates. The senior Gladiator will have clock rates of 825 MHz / 1.2 GHz, respectively. Radeon HD 2950 Pro cards will feature 256/512 MB of GDDR3/GDDR4, while HD 2950 GT will have 512MB of GDDR4 memory.
