Sapphire Announces Dual GPU Solution
Two X1950 PRO GPUs on a single card – the latest introduction from Sapphire Technology, dubbed the Sapphire X1950 PRO DUAL and being shown for the first time at CES in Las Vegas from 8th January 2007.
According to the press release, the Sapphire X1950 PRO DUAL offers performance comparable with that of ATI CrossFire dual GPU systems. Having the same thickness as a standard two-slot graphics card, the Sapphire X1950 PRO DUAL connects via a single PCI-Express x16 slot opening up the future possibility of the Quad AMD GPU operation in an ATI CrossFire mainboard.
The Sapphire X1950 PRO DUAL features a full 1GB of onboard GDDR3 and both cores operate with engine clock speeds of 580MHz and memory timings of 1400MHz. It offers simultaneous HDR with adaptive anti-aliasing and a palette of over one billion colours. It natively supports HDCP and features the ATI Avivo High Definition video and display technology.
All Sapphire's latest graphics cards are Microsoft Windows Vista ready and supported by ATI Catalyst Software Suite. The card is also RoHS-compliant.
