Intel To Present 9W TDP Processor Next Month
According to the source, on June 25 Intel is to announce several new mobile processors on Yonah core with 9W TDP (5.5W for budget models).
Exactly this TDP will have the new Core Duo U2500 operating at 1.2GHz and featuring 2MB of L2 cache and 533MHz FSB. It will support virtualization technology, Enhanced SpeedStep, Åxecute Disable Bit.
The Core Duo U2500 is to become the most economical of all dual-core processors. Though its performance per watt might not be the best - remember the VIA C7-M ULV with TDP of 3.5 to 7.5 Watts. Still, according to preliminary information, Intel's new solution is promised to perform twice as faster than C7-M ULV 1.5GHz.
Besides the aforementioned novelty (MSRP of which will make $289), the company will introduce a budget Celeron M 423 with 5.5W TDP operating at 1.06GHz and featuring 1MB of L2 cache and 533 MHz FSB. Its MSRP will make $161.
