Kyocera To Start Mass Production Of 5.7" VGA TFT Display
Kyocera today announced that the company had developed a 5.7-inch high-definition VGA Liquid Crystal Display (resolution 640 x 480 dots) for industrial equipment such as manufacturing machine control, test and measurement equipment, and medical equipment. The unit will go into mass production in April this year.
The 5.7-inch VGA TFT LCD complies with the RoHS Directive, the European Union's Restriction of Certain Hazardous Substances which comes into force on July 1, 2006, and is compatible with lead-free LED backlight.
The design features reduced dead space around the module, and the viewing area is centered horizontally within the outline. This allows for more compact equipment and gives equipment designers more latitude.
This 5.7" VGA product is mechanically compatible with the conventional 5.7-inch QVGA V-Series models. This means that equipment manufacturers can upgrade or offer differentiated products without changing the designs of their equipment.
