CeBIT 2006: Galaxy Graphics Cards With Zalman Cooling
Galaxy introduced at CeBIT 2006 several graphics cards cooled by Korean Zalman.
The first reported of is 6600GE. The suffix means not "Gamers Edition", but "Galaxy Edition". Default clock rates are the standard 300/550 MHz, however the vendor guarantees overclocking potential.
At that, there's a special chip to disable GPU in case of overheating, and Dual BIOS.
Next is the mid-range Galaxy 6600GT with DDR3 memory and Zalman cooling.
And how do you like such an original passive cooling system (on the left photo) compared to 7600GT's reference design?
If passive cooling is not enough, Galaxy offers the same 7600GT with Zalman cooling that is also silent, but more effective.
7900GT requires better cooling, so Galaxy supplies it with an all-copper Zalman unlike Al-Cu solutions above.
Finally, the top performer from Galaxy bases on NVIDIA GeForce 7900GTX and, for now, has the reference design. But the vendor promises a passively-cooled variant in the near future.
