TYAN Debuts Dual Xeon DDR2 Server Board, New Transport Servers
Tyan introduced a highly-compact and versatile dual Intel Xeon server board: the Tiger i7322DP (S5353), a densely-packed server board with all of the features of full-size server boards, in a smaller package.
The Tiger i7322DP (S5353) uses the Intel E7320 chipset with an optimized 1U layout design on all components to allow for improved airflow over all parts of the motherboard. Features of the Tiger i7322DP include:
- 1U-optimized layout
- Support for Intel Xeon processors with EM64T (64-bit), XD, and Dual Core technology
- Supports up to 12GB of DDR2-400 Registered memory with ECC checking
- 2 x Gigabit network ports and 1 x 10/100 network port
- 1 x PCI-X slot and 1 x PCI-32 slot
- TARO add-on SO-DIMM socket for SATA-II and SAS functionality
- Integrated Serial ATA with RAID levels supported (0, 1)
- Built-in 16MB XGI Volari Z7 video controller with external video port
- Remote management features including IPMI 2.0, all in an SSI CEB form factor
The Tiger i7322DP (S5353) is currently sampling, and will reach mass production levels shortly through mid-Q1'06.
Other two novelties are two new Transport servers: GT20 (B3870) and GT20 (B5161), instant barebones server solutions which can enable customers to quickly build up their IT infrastructures in a short amount of time.
Both the Transport GT20 (B3870) and (B5161) provide a sleek, tool-less 1U Rackmount design and have a number of components which are included as standard with every Tyan Transport package, such as rails, heatsinks, extensive documentation, driver CD, front mount handles, and much more.
Features of the Transport GT20 (B3870) include:
- 1U-optimized layout for best airflow and thermal management available
- Support for AMD Opteron 200 series processors with Dual Core technology and 32/64-bit scalable computing, and AMD
- PowerNow! energy-saving features
- Supports DDR400 Registered memory with ECC checking and ChipKill
- 2 x Gigabit network ports with ASF 2.0/WfM/teaming support
- 1 x PCI-X slot on riser
- TARO add-on SO-DIMM socket for SCSI, SATA-II and SAS functionality
- Built-in 16MB XGI Volari Z7 video controller with external video port
- Remote management features including IPMI 2.0 (via optional kit)
Features of the Transport GT20 (B5161) include:
- 1U-optimized layout for best airflow and thermal management available
- Support for a single Intel P4 HT processors and Pentium D processors w/ Dual Core technology
- Supports DDR2-667/533/400 Unbuffered memory with optional ECC checking
- 2 x gigabit network ports and 1 x 10/100 network port
- 1 x PCI-X slot on riser (optional PCI Express on riser)
- Built-in 16MB XGI Volari Z7 video controller with external video port
- Remote management features including IPMI 2.0 (via optional kit)
The Transport GT20 (B3870 and B5161) are both currently sampling, and will reach mass production levels by the end of Q1'06.
