TI Announces 14-bit, 170MSPS ADC For Wideband Signal Processing Applications
Extending its family of data converters, TI announced another technology advancement with a 14-bit, 170MSPS (mega samples per second) ADC. The ADS5545 offers 72dBFS SNR and 84dBc spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) at the maximum sample rate of 170MSPS and an input frequency of 150MHz, providing increased system capabilities in advanced communications, instrumentation, test and measurement, medical, video and imaging applications.
The device includes an internal sample and hold, low-jitter clock buffer, internal reference, and options for parallel CMOS or LVDS outputs. It operates from a single 3.3V supply and is specified over the industrial temperature range of -40C to +85C.
The ADS5545 is sampling now, with volume production scheduled for 2Q 2006. The device comes in a 48-pin QFN package (7x7mm) and is priced at $62.50 in 1,000 piece quantities (suggested resale pricing). Evaluation modules (EVMs) are also available.
