Sharp Introduces PC-WA70K/50K Wide-Display Notebooks
Sharp, following Sony, Toshiba and Acer, updated its notebooks series for the "back to school" season with PC-WA70K and PC-WA50K models. Novelties, with pre-installed Windows XP Home Edition and Office Personal Edition 2003 SP1, will go on sale on September 20.
Both feature 15.4" 1280x800 (WXGA) displays, are sized 354x253x27.8-33mm, and weigh 2.8kg.
The senior WA70K also features 512MB RAM (up to 2GB), and a TV tuner. Its expected price is about $1650. The junior WA50K has an IEEE802.11b/g adapter instead of a TV tuner, and twice as less RAM. Its expected price is $1569.
Both novelties base on Mobile Sempron 2800+ 1.6GHz and integrated RADEON XPRESS 200M, have 80GB HDDs, DVD Super Multi drives. Interfaces include PCMCIA Type II, Ethernet, 3 x USB2.0, 4-pin IEEE 1394, VGA (D-Sub). WA70K works for about 1.7 hours, WA50K – for about 2.1 hours.
