Apple Announces Mighty Mouse
Apple announced a new-generation mouse manipulator the Mighty Mouse which offers a number of interesting features that, according to the vendor, will make its usage even simpler and more comfortable.
Firstly, the Mighty Mouse has a Scroll Ball instead of a wheel that is used to navigate opened documents, etc. Secondly, the solid touch-sensitive body of the new mouse can be programmed to work as a classic single-button or modern quadro-button manipulator.
While two invisible buttons are located in the usual place, the other two sensitive areas are situated on each side of the mouse. This makes it possible to activate quick launch panel, browser or any other application by squeezing the manipulator with fingers. All buttons can be programmed independently.
The Mighty Mouse (USB1.1/2.0) is available for $49 and can work under Mac OS X, Windows 2000/XP (Mac OS X 10.4.2 Tiger required for quick button functionallity).
