Computex 2005: ECS PF88 Extreme Hybrid, a motherboard for Intel and AMD
At Computex 2005 Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) showcases PF88 Extreme Hybrid motherboard supporting LGA775 processors, 1066MHz FSB, PCI-E, Dual Core, EM64T, eSATA, NCQ, SATAII and Port Multiplier as well as ECS I.O.C. for simultaneous GPU and CPU overclocking.
The proprietary EliteBus technology enables to switch between Intel and AMD platforms using a SIMA card that bears CPU socket, Northbridge, memory and CPU power sockets.
ECS is ready to ship three various SIMA cards for PF88 Extreme Hybrid motherboard:
- A9S based on SiS 756 Northbridge, it supports Socket 939 of AMD Athlon 64 FX / Athlon 64 CPUs and 2000 MT/s FSB
- À4S also on SiS 756 Northbridge, supports Socket 754 of AMD Athlon 64/Athlon Sempron CPUs and 1600 MT/s FSB
- I9S based on SiS 649 Northbridge, it supports Socket 479 of Intel Pentium M and 533MHz FSB
