Updated: Pentium 4/EM64T processors not cancelled, but just renamed
Yesterday we wrote about the unconfirmed cancellation of the seven Intel Pentium 4 processors with EM64T. It seemed rather strange actually, as their life cycle was going to be really short.
Now everything has become clear thanks to Kari Skoog, Intel PR. According to Kari, these parts were just renamed: before March 2005, the company called these processors "Pentium 4 with EM64T", but since then, they´ve called them the "Pentium 4 500 series". As simple as that.
