Matrox Parhelia DL256 PCI – Apple Cinema monitors for Windows
The company announced a new variant of its GPU first introduced the year before the previous. The new modification is designed for 64-bit/66MHz PCI-X bus, but can work in PCI 2.2 slots as well. Another difference from the previous products is the improved dual link DVI interface high-res output to new-generation TFT monitors.
Actually there´s only one such monitor, 30" Apple Cinema (junior 20" and 23" models have usual DVI interfaces). Max. resolution provided by the first output of DL DVI makes 2560x1600 @ 32-bit color. The new interface is also backward compatible with DVI.
The second output supports resolutions up to 2048x1536, so you can connect both CRT and TFT monitors with D-Sub interfaces. There are WYSIWYG plugins for many professional graphics and video applications that provide realistic colors in real time.
Other specs include 256 MB memory, 2 x 400 MHz RAMDAC and higher-quality coolers.
The novelty is already available in USA for $700.
