Radeon Xpress 200: ATI answers to nForce4
ATI introduced Radeon Xpress 200 chipset supporting all AMD K8 processors. It´s such an answer to NVIDIA´s nForce4 introduced several days before. Speaking more precisely, Radeon Xpress 200 is a family that includes two modifications, Xpress 200P and Xpress 200 that have different Northbridges. Besides, Xpress 200P doesn´t have a built-in graphics core. Both chipsets support Socket 754 and 939 processors.
Graphics core of Radeon Xpress 200 is identical to Radeon X300. It supports DirectX9, vertex shader 2.0 and pixel shader 2.0, HyperMemory (allocates up to 128 MB of RAM for graphics needs).
