Volari Z7: a new specialized GPU from XGI
To the market of specialized graphics solutions a new product from XGI was introduced: Volari Z7. The GPU features 2D engine, supports DDR/DDRII/GDDRIII memory (16/32-bit bus), can have 8 to 128 MB memory.
The "direct" PCI support eliminates the need in a PCI-AGP bridge. According to the press release, from similar solutions the GPU differs by small size and low energy consumption. The supporting software enables to use Volari Z7 cards on various platforms. Resolutions up to 1600x1200 are available for Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2003 Server, Windows 2003 Server EM64T, RHEL 3.0, RHEL 3.0 EM64T, RHEL 4.0, NetWare 6.5 (Dos Mode), SUSE 9, DOS.
