Hewlett-Packard unveil h6300, hx4700, rx3000 PDAs

Hewlett-Packard updated its iPAQ PDA series with h6300, hx4700, rx3000 models. iPAQ h6300 features GSM/GPRS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth; iPAQ hx4700 has a touchpad similar to those used in notebooks; finally, iPAQ rx3000 offers rich multimedia capabilities being oriented at youngsters.


iPAQ h6300:

  • GSM/GPRS 800/900/1800/1900 MHz, Wi-Fi (802.11b), Bluetooth 1.1, IrDA, USB
  • Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 Pocket PC Phone Edition, Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet Explorer for Pocket PC
  • Texas Instruments OMAP 1510 CPU
  • 3.5" (89mm) TFT LCD
  • VGA camera in some models
  • 64MB SDRAM, 64MB Flash ROM (55MB free), up to 20MB iPAQ File Store
  • SD/MMC with SDIO

iPAQ hx4700:

  • WLAN 802.11b, Bluetooth 1.2, IrDA (FIR), USB, Serial
  • Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 Pocket PC Second Edition, Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet Explorer for Pocket PC
  • Intel Bulverde 624 MHz CPU
  • 4" 640x480 TFT, 65,536 colors
  • 128MB ROM, 64MB SDRAM, 135MB free total, 80MB iPAQ File Store
  • SD/MMC with SDIO, CF Type II
  • 131x77x14.9mm size
  • 186.7 g weight

iPAQ rx3000 series include models with digital cameras (rx3700, 1280x960, 4x digital zoom) and without them (rx3100). rx3100 is lighter (147.4g vs. 158.1g), has 980mAh battery vs. 1440mAh of rx3700, and has less memory (rx3700 offers 152MB free with 96MB iPAQ File Store, while rx3100 has only 56MB free).
