Making X800 XT out of X800 PRO, Russian style
Most likely, you have already read some materials on remaking RADEON X800 PRO cards into X800 XT ones. We believe it´s high time to perform the same operation in our own lab.
The experiment affected PowerColor RADEON X800 PRO Limited Edition (to the left) and ATI RADEON X800 PRO Reference card (to the right):
The detailed examination indicates the cars have identical PCB design, so the differences should only be found in proceccors. And there it is: you can see a gap on PowerColor RADEON X800 PRO GPU. Then we should close these contacts and repatch BIOS... In advance, I can say the experiment was a success:
