Samsung announces 90nm 2Gbit NAND flash
Samsung Electronics announced a new higher-speed version of 90nm 2Gbit NAND flash chips that have throughput increased from 16.4MB/s to 24.1MB/s (about 47%) and serial write/read time reduced from 50ns to 30ns.
The company is planning to introduce three variants of 90nm products: single-crystal 2Gbit, dual-crystal 4Gbit and quadro-crystal 8Gbit chips. Besides, the latest 1GB chips can be used in new USB dongles, tablet PCs, PDAs, solid-state disks.
No pricing have been disclosed, but the previous 2Gbit chips currently cost $39.
