Acer announces new Centrino-based TravelMate 8000
Acer Eastern Europe announced a new TravelMate 8000 notebook based on Centrino platform.
Acer TravelMate 8000 features up to 1.7GHz Intel Pentium M processor, Intel 855GME chipset with 400MHz FSB, Intel PRO/Wireless 2100BG (IEEE 802.11g), Gigabit Ethernet, 56K V.92 modem, 512MB RAM, 80GB HDD with Acer DASP (Disc Anti Shock Protection).
The 15" LCD of TravelMate 8000 supports resolutions up to 1400x1050. The notebook has 64/128MB ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9700.
TravelMate 8000 also features DVD/CD-RW combo or DVD-Super Multi recorder, 4 x USB 2.0, IrDA, S-Video, PCMCIA (CardBus) type II, IEEE 1394 (Firewire), 4-in-1 card reader for Secure Digital, SmartMedia, MultiMediaCard and Memory Stick media, smart card authetificator. The battery is claimed to provide up to 5-hour operation. Notebooks are shipped with Microsoft Windows XP Home or Professional.
