Intel stops production of 2GHz Celeron and redecorates Itanium 2
Today Intel informed on some changes in its Celeron and Itanium 2 lines.
First, the company stopped the production of 2GHz desktop Celeron (C-1 stepping, S-Spec SL73H and 45W TDP) due to standard reasons transition to more powerful models. Orders will be accepted until May 7, while the shipments will last until October 8, 2004.
Second, Intel redecorated Itanium 2 due to changes in processor labelling technology. On April 26 the company will start shipping Madison-F and Madison-I series with new 2D "matrix" labels that will look like this:
