Motorola at CeBIT 2004: three multimedia novelties

Seemingly Motorola adopts the methods and tactics of its main rival, Nokia. First, Motorola is seriously trying to outrun Nokia in announcements per time unit. Second, the company started paying more attention to innovations at such major events as 3GSM World Congress and CeBIT. Still Motorola focuses more on user technologies, while Nokia focuses on the corporate market.

At CeBIT 2004 that started today in Hannover the company showcases its "Intelligence Everywhere" series: Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth, Push-to-Talk over TETRA, Cellular (PoC) products, partially announced earlier. It also demonstrates the MTV International broadcast onto the first-introduced E398 mobile handset. Besides, the company introduced two more handsets, E680 and C650, alongside M900 car GSM terminal.

Motorola C650 is a rather simple, but fully-featured product with a digital camera, MP3 playback, MMS, Java support. I guess it will replace C350.

Finally, Motorola E680 has the highest display resolution of 240x320 and resembles MPx, but works under Linux. Similar to the previous models, E680 has a 640x480 digital camera, but also supports movie recording and has 8x digital zoom.
