One after another Taiwanese chipset makers are announcing their PCI Express solutions, according to the roadmaps. Today we got to know that SiS unveiled SiS656 and SiS756 Northbridges for Pentium 4 and Athlon 64, respectively.
SiS656 for Pentium 4 (Socket 478 / LGA775) supporting Hyper-Threading, PCI Express x16, 800/533/400 MHz FSB, dual-channel DDR2-667/DDR400 up to 4GB. It´s designed to work together with SiS965 Southbridge announced in February. SiS MuTIOL bus offers usual up to 1GB/s throughput.
SiS756 for Athlon 64 also supports PCI Express x16 and has Hyper-Transport clock rate increased to 1GHz. Similar to SiS656, SiS756 is to be coupled with SiS965 Southbridge via 1GB/s MuTIOL bus. (Speaking of SiS965, it supports 2x SATA 150, 2 x PCI Express x1, 7.1-channel audio, 10/100 LAN, etc.)
