JetFlash dongle reaches 4GB capacity
Transcend Information released its new 4GB USB 2.0 JetFlash (TS4GJF2A) dongle based on 8 x 4Gbit NAND chips. The novelty looks identical to the previous 2GB JetFlash model.

The device provides peak 9MB/s read and 8MB/s write and works under Windows 98 SE/2000/Me/XP,
MacOS 8.6+, Linux core 2.4.2+ (bundled drivers are required for Windows 98 only). As usual this series the new JetFlash dongle is bootable, provides data password protection, and has a write-protect switch.
I think this model is a nice example of technology growing not "deeper", but "wider". After another data density breakthrough all manufacturers start making the newer and newer devices on the same chips of the larger and larger capacity. This should naturally last until the next data density breakthrouh.
