Toshiba to introduce All-in-one notebooks
Later this month Toshiba is going to update its 2- and 3-spindle "all-in-one" notebooks.
The new Toshiba VX1 that replaces V9 bases on Intel 855PM chipset, has 15.4" WXGA (1280x800) display, 1.5GHz Pentium M, 64Mb GeForce FX Go5200 graphics, 256MB PC2700 (up to 2GB), multi-format DVD recorder, 80GB HDD, and naturally a number of interfaces. The traditional external TV tuner is connected via USB2.0. Sized 360x270x25.4, the novelty weighs 2.8kg.
Another new model, Toshiba EX1, allows watching TV without booting the OS. Based on 15" XGA (1024x768) display, Intel 852GM chipset and Mobile Pentium 4-M or Mobile Celeron processor (up to 2.4GHz), the model has 80GB HDD, universal DVD drive, IEEE 802.11b/g. Sized 330x282x38.4mm, it weighs about 3.1kg.
The inexpensive Toshiba AX1 on Intel 852GM chipset and 2.4GHz Mobile Celeron has 256MB PC2100 (up to 1GB), 40GB HDD, DVD/CD-RW drive and 14.1" XGA (1024x768) display. Sized 332x293x33mm, it weighs about 2.9kg.
Note that all the aforementioned are shipping to the local Japanese market at the moment.
