Tracing back to its roots of its highly acclaimed BH6 i440BX to its latest IC7-MAX3, Abit never fails to impress its enthusiast fans. Recently we’ve reviewed the IC7-MAX3 featuring Intel’s very best Canterwood i875. While the i875 is catered for a premium niche market, its sibing, the Springdale i865 holds a much favorable price tag with a near i875 performance. This time around, we’re going to take a closer look at Abit’s i865PE solution, the IS7." Read more at myWORLD Hardware. FiringSquad article: "Siteseeing: US Nuclear Submarine Air Purification on your Desk" "We all know that dust can impede system cooling and cause instability, so today FiringSquad will be looking at a desktop air purifier that´s using the same 5-stage electrostatic precipitation mechanism used in US nuclear submarines. That´s not exaggerated marketing either, these purifiers are built by Trion, the sole supplier of air cleaners for the US Navy nuclear submarine fleet." Read more at FiringSquad. Serial ATA Explained – What’s the big deal? @ TweakTown "Today we begin our investigation into the relatively new and future orientated Serial ATA interface for our personal computing storage needs and discuss the benefits, as well as disadvantages, compared to the aging Parallel ATA standard which we’ve been using for around 15 years now." Designtechnica´s CES 2004 Wrap-Up "The theme of the 2004 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) might as well have
been "flat panels, flat panels and more flat panels." It seemed as if every
exhibitor had an LCD (Liquid Crystal Display), PDP (Plasma Display Panel),
or DLP (Digital Light Processing) display to show off. While we have no way
of quantifying our assessment, it´s probably safe to say that never before
has there been such a collection of LCD, DLP and PDP displays under one
roof.

Viel Spass beim Lesen!" Read more at Hardware-Mag. HWZ review: Imation Portable Slim Combo drive "To sum things up, this 2-in-1 slimmer might just be what you need to breathe a new lease of life into your notebook or even desktop PC. You can use it to create multimedia CDs, backup your files to free up your notebook’s limited hard-disk space, and even watch your favorite DVD movie titles. Essentially, it converts your notebook into a personal entertainment unit. It’s also a great optical drive replacement should your existing one becomes defective or is just a plain old CD-ROM drive." Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 Hard Drive Reviewed @ myWORLD Hardware "When we utter the word “Barracuda”, we all immediately knew that it was Seagate´s flagship hard drive for the high-end desktop consumers. It became famous since their initial release of the Medalist Pro 9140, which is later known as Barracuda ATA, II, III, IV, V and now, “.7”. As a 7th generation of Seagate Barracuda line, they decided to label them as Barracuda 7200.7 as part of new naming scheme." Read more at myWORLD Hardware. Epson Perfection 3170 Photo @ TrustedReviews "Quality-wise the 3170 surpassed what I expected from a flatbed scanner, especially when it came to scanning film. While it’s safe to say that a dedicated film scanner will almost always produce better results, the definition in the scans of my colour negatives and the colour accuracy in my transparencies are both splendid." Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu CPU Cooler Review @ Bjorn3D "The weight alone, or that combined with the fear of possibly voiding a warranty, may scare many people away from such a beefy HSF. However, there is a very good reason this CPU cooler weighs so much its large chunk of copper coupled with the 92 millimeter fan are meant to keep a CPU very cool with minimal noise. I hooked the CNPS7000A-Cu up on an Athlon 64 to see if its weight is justified by its performance. Read on to find out..." Read more at Bjorb3D.
