Hitachi unveils its new FLORA 220W/270W notebooks
Hitachi unveiled two notebook series for corporate users, FLORA 220W and FLORA 270W, scheduled for sale to January 9, 2004.
FLORA 220W includes models with 12.1" WXGA (1280x800) LCDs. The 1.5GHz Pentium M should arrive on the date mentioned, while the 2nd model on Mobile Celeron 800A with reduced energy consumption is to arrive on January 16. Other features are identical:
- 256MB PC2700 (up to 768MB)
- 30GB HDD
- 24x CD-ROM
- i855GME chipset
- 1 x PC Card Type II
- 1 x CF Type II
- LAN
- V.90 modem
- 3 x USB 2.0 ports
- 1 x 4-pin IEEE 1394
- 15-pin D-Sub

- Li-Ion battery, 2.6-hour uptime (2.7 hours for the Celeron model)
- 296.8x215x29.3mm
- 1.83kg
Optionally systems might feature optical drives, etc.
As for the FLORA 270W series, it now includes a slim model with 15" XGA (1024x768) LCD that features i855GM chipset, 1.4GHz Pentium M, 256MB PC2100 (up to 1GB). Similar to the models above, FLORA 270W slim will have 30GB HDD and 24x CD-ROM.
Model interfaces include 2 x PC Card Type II, Ethernet, 3 x USB 2.0, 1 x 4-pin IEEE1394, 15-pin D-Sub, LPT, COM, etc. The Li-Ion battery provides about 2 hours of uptime. Sized 330x281x33.2mm, it weighs 2.8kg.
Options include optical combos, V.90 modem, USB Bluetooth V.1.1, etc.
