Hitachi announces FMV-7000NA5/H notebook with RAID 1 support
Fujitsu announced an FMV-7000NA5/H A4 corporate notebook differing from similar models by RAID 1 (Mirroring). The novelty is based on Intel 852GME.
Depending on customer needs, the company can offer the following configurations: 14.1"/15" LCD (1024x768 / 1400x1050), Pentium 4 M (3.2/3.06/2.66GHz), up to 1GB DDR333 SDRAM. Other components are all variable. For example, this is one of the minimal RAID configurations: 14.1" XGA LCD, 2.66GHz Pentium 4 M, 128MB RAM, 2 x 20GB HDDs, 3.5" FDD. With Windows XP Professional OS this model costs about $2610. The same model with a single HDD costs about $2190. Interfaces include 2 x PC Card Type II slots, 4 x USB2.0 ports, 15-pin D-Sub, COM, LPT, etc.
The Li-Ion battery provides up to 2.6 hours of operation. Judging by notebook size and weigh, FMV-7000NA5/H should be positioned as a mobile workstation I guess: 329x299x44.5-54.3mm size, weight with 14.1" LCD is 3.9kg, with 15" is 4.1kg (including an optical drive).
