Matrix RAID in ICH 6 — a new implementation of RAID
French X86-Secret reported that Intel´s Grantsdale chipset might feature a new form of RAID implemented into ICH6 Matrix RAID a combination of RAID 0 and RAID 1:

Matrix RAID provides two partitions: RAID 0 and RAID 1. The first is sized 80GB is used to store less critical data that still requires lots of capacity — like Windows. The second partition must be sized 40GB and used to store critical information. Among the advantages they mention the capability to resize partitions without data losses.
