PowerColor X40D-D3: another graphics card on Volari Duo V8 Ultra
The recent silence in the Web about the new XGI Volari releases is actually alerting. Is it calm before the storm of something important scheduled to Monday, December 8, as well as the official announcement of Volari Duo V8 Ultra? Or the silence that ends in silence? Pity, but we didn´t see any news about real Volari Duo V8 Ultra cards in distributor channel, so the sales volumes are only hypothetical now.
But XGI´s graphics card partners are wide awake: following the Club-3D that announced shipments of cards on XGI Volari Duo V8 Ultra, C.P. Technology posted the similar information on its website.
PowerColor Volari Duo V8 Ultra (X40D-D3) based on 2 x Volari V8 Ultra GPUs, has 256MB of 256-bit DDRII memory. Clock speeds haven´t been disclosed yet, so we can just guess if they make the 375/450 (900 DDR) MHz claimed by XGI or just 350/400MHz like Club-3D Volari Duo V8 Ultra has.
The novelty has D-Sub, DVI-I, TV-out connectors and is bundled with the unified XGI Reactor Unified Driver.
That´s all disclosed at the moment. It seems that more news might arrive on Monday, if only some "stray" shipment of Volari Duo V8 Ultra skids to some Japanese store on weekend.
