Say goodbye to the Low Voltage 933 MHz Intel Pentium III processor
Today Intel announced plans to stop the production and shipments of its 0.13µm Low Voltage 933 MHz Intel Pentium III with 512KB L2 cache (DP) in Micro-FCBGA package.
The official document states that the cancellation program was launched as far back as on May 14, 2003 (that day the latest chip revision with the B1 stepping was released). On November 7 the company stopped accepting orders for this chip. And the shipments will be stopped completely on May 12, 2006. The reason for all of the above is standard: the transition to higher-performance processors in this market.
