Timex Ironman Speed & Distance System: the new GPS watch
Timex together with Garmin International announced their new GPS system built into a wrist watch. The GPS receiver itself is a new part of Timex Bodylink System portable mini-kit (heartbeat monitor + stop-watch + odometer + data storage, USB interface, etc.) enabling to locate the subscriber and estimate his or her movement speed.

Timex Ironman Speed & Distance System contains two modules: a GPS receiver and a monitoring system. These two are interconnected via a wireless jamproof FM interface. The receiver scans satellite signals and transfers subscriber location and speed data to the watch terminal in real time.
Timex Ironman Speed & Distance System is expected in retail closer to April 2004 with MSRP of about $225.
