It came with a nice heatspreader, whereby color may vary from the time when you purchased. For our case here, Mushkin has sent us a stick of memory module with blue colored heatspreader. The heatspreader helps to cool off the DRAM while operating it, which might proved useful when it comes to overclocking." Read more at myWORLD Hardware. Nuclear Meltdown .01 New Column @ Bjorn3d "When talking about the technology industry, it is almost impossible to leave Microsoft out of the picture. This issue´s "Microsoft Department" deals with an innovative yet scary new technology. A new BIOS (Basic Input Output System) chip made by Phoenix Technologies allows an operating system, Windows in this case, to directly control the hardware." Read more at Bjorn3d. Samsung ML-2151N Laser Printer @ KEPTech.NET "Comparing the ML-2151N with an HP equivalent, the ML comes in at about half the cost of the HP. Not only this, but HP lists the duplexer and network card as options! Samsung calls these features standard. One thing that impressed me about the ML-2151N was the print quality: the text was dark and crisp. Comparing the print quality of the Samsung to my Okidata and the HP printer at my school, the Samsung comes out on top." Read more at KEPTech.NET. Logitech QuickCam Sphere @ TrustedReviews "Logitech has just launched its new QuickCam Sphere, which is trying hard to differentiate itself from the average webcam. What Logitech has done is nothing new, but it is the first time that features like these have appeared on a consumer level product. Thermaltake Xaser III Lanfire (VM2000A) Review @ Bjorn3d "I don´t think that Thermaltake was struggling to gain acceptance from the LAN party crowd; the company just wanted to make a bolder statement in the segment to compete more directly with the other cases out on the streets that are marketed to LAN party gamers. The Lanfire version of the already popular Xaser III series was obviously made for travel. It was made smaller and weighs about 4.5 kg less than its bigger brother, the Xaser III Super Tower. Obviously, this move was to make it a more appealing chassis for a LAN rig." Read more at Bjorn3d. I4U Review: Face-Off: Sony Cybershot DSC-U50 versus Casio Exilim S20 "We had the opportunity to compare two of the best small pocket sized Digital Cameras in our I4U Lab. The Sony Cybershot DSC-U50 and the Casio Exilim S20, the latter we recently selected as the Best Small Digital Camera of 2003. This award was based on comparing the features and especially the size, where the Casio Exilim S20 is unbeatable. The DSC-U50 has double the volume of the Exilim S20. We focus in this first hand review on how to make a decision between those two digital cameras when compared directly. We made some very interesting observations." Read more at I4U. Terratec Aureon 7.1 Space Surround Soundcard Review @ Tweaknews.net "Never before have I heard sounds as crisp as those produced by this card. Unlike the Muse 5.1 which had trouble dealing with assigning sounds to various speakers on occasion, the Aureon 7.1 expertly takes advantage of each point in a surround sound setup." Yet it is often the root for instability problems due to being to weak for all the power hugry stuff we put in our computers. Scott has reviewed the Antec True Blue 480 to see if it would fare better than the 350W power supply he had before." Read more at Bjorn3d.
