Sharp Zaurus SL-C860: a new PDA with VGA display
Late in November Sharp is to launch shipments (Japan only) of its new Zaurus SL-C860 PDA.

The new device bases on 400MHz Intel XScale PXA255 processor, features 128MB flash, 64MB SDRAM, 3.7" 640x480 LCD (similar to one used in SC-C760).
Zaurus SL-C860 works under the traditional Linux OpenPDA. From other models SL-C860 differs by an installed Japanese-Engligh and vice versa dictionary (110,000 and 250,000 words, respectively) and the "Zaurus drive" technology enabling desktops to recognize PDA as an external storage during USB connections.
The new model features Compact Flash and Secure Digital slots. Sized 120x83x23.2mm, it weighs 250g. The integrated Li-Ion battery provides 8.5 hours of operation. In Japan the estimated price is about $630, and no data on SL-C860 shipments to other regions have been disclosed yet.
