AMD Optimal BIOS settings + Overclocking Guide @ Madshrimps

"You´ll spend one day getting the best CPU Mhz you can. Another day devoted to getting a screencap of the best Mem Bandwidth you can. Another day getting the highest 3DMark score you can, another day getting the fastest HardDrive transfer rates you can... screencaps of the lot, post ´m in the forums, let the fans worship & adore you (until they beat you!!). Hardcore overclockers spend weeks devoted to bettering each individual score, and then when they´ve got the best scores they can, they sell off that component and try to find one that´ll do even better... On and on we go..."

3DCenter Editorial: Will "brilinear" filtering persist?

"There is an alarming development for a while: Newer Cards and/or newer drivers lower the image quality without being asked to do so. We take a look at the new "brilinear" filter for Nvidia´s GeForceFX cards from 52.16 drivers."

Steelpad 4D Professional Gaming Mousepad Review @ Tweaknews.net

"It offers support for either optical or ball, and both surfaces work equally good. Its size is only an issue if you do not have enough desk real estate. Otherwise it´s a huge plus. More space means more control and options."

TechConnect reviews the INcoder Slim D1 Combo Drive

"INcoder focused on performance as well as looks and portability. The D1 is very stylish and easy to take on road. The brown leather gives him a neat and stylish aspect. What makes this slim drive to stand above the rest is the looks. Coupled with great performance, the D1 is quite a nice release by INcoder. The greatest plus in performance area is the seek times, which are superb. Second to that, there is the DVD reading performance, and writing performance which does not disappoint at all."

Designtechnica reviews the super sexy Pioneer DVR-S606 DVD Writer

"Pioneer´s DVR-S606 has what a lot of other DVD writers on the market seem to be lacking; substance. While the DVR-S606 is not the fastest DVD writer on the market, you really get a lot for your money. The Pioneer DVR-S606 has a good software package, USB and FireWire cables that support both the larger and mini inputs (found on most notebook computers), and both write-once and rewritable media boxed with the drive; not to mention FireWire pass through for daisy chaining devices. The DVR-S606 looks great, is incredibly quiet and seems to be well thought through. The only improvement we would like to see is support for Apple´s operating systems. So before purchasing a DVD writer based solely on its writing speed, ask yourself if an extra minute is really worth purchasing an 8X external drive over the DVR-S606; if it is, then you will be sorry."

Plextor PX-504UF External High-Speed DVD+R/RW CD-R/RW Drive Review @ Tweaknews.net

"The advantage of being able to choose either USB or Firewire makes the drive very versatile. The included software is fairly robust, though still user-friendly. DVD Builder is a great application for parents wanting to backup family videos. And the DVD+R format is still more widely supported by DVD-ROMs and home DVD players."
