Sony DSC-U40: 2Mp digital still camera with Memory Stick PRO Duo support
In mid-November Sony plans to launch shipments of its new DSC-U40 cameras that belong to Cybershot U series. The novelty is based on the previous DSC-U30 model, and differs only by the Memory Stick PRO Duo support.
The new camera has fixed-focus lens (F2.8, 33mm in 35mm equiv.), 1/2.7" 2Mp Super HAD CCD. Focusing range is 10cm to infinity. Supported resolutions include 1632x1224 or 640x480. MPEG-1 movie resolution is 320x240 (w/o sound).
Sized 82.8x26x39mm, the camera weighs 114g with battery and media card. DSC-U40 will be shipped in silvery, black, dark blue or red bodies. It´s estimated price in Japan will be about $220.
