Olympus unveils TURBO MO mini LX II – optical USB 2.0 MO drive
Olympus unveiled the external 3.5" TURBO MO mini LX II USB 2.0 drive that will be available for sale on October 24 for the still undisclosed price.
Comparing to the previous TURBO MO mini LX announced in March, the new drive is faster – 4320rpm vs. 3000rpm. The 8% smaller volume enabled to reduce the weight of mini LX II by 24% to 305g at 108x120x24mm. As for the competitive features vs. Fujitsu DynaMO 640U2 Photo, for example, TURBO MO mini LX II is more compact and faster, but has no PC Card Type II slot. Well, I guess the "mini" is more important for the maker.
As usual for the modern MO drives, the model supports 128, 230, 540 and 640Mb media. Supported OS include Windows 98/Me/2000/XP, Mac OS 8.6-9.2.2, Mac OS X 10.1.
