Summit, Apogee É Zenith: system cosmetics from Chaintech
In the near future Chaintech is going to present a new line of
innovative "all inclusive" motherboards.
The novelties are codenamed Summit, Apogee, and Zenith. All of them feature black PCB, yellow (AMD
variant) or green (Intel variant) slots, sockets, ports. At that cosmetics touches even PCI ports, LAN, USB
2.0 sockets, etc.
The above names represent the motherboard level. So, the Apogee design defines it as Middle-End — the
buyer also gets round (yellow/green) IDE cables, special CBOX panel for 3.5" bay featuring four USB ports,
Headphones- and Mic-Out, pseudo 4.1-channel Body Theater headphones.
Zenith models represent Top-End, featuring an additional Firewire port.
Summit series includes inexpensive motherboards not supplied with Body Theater headphones and CBOX panel,
round firm IDE cables replaced by usual.
The market will see VIA KT333 and i845E/G models first.
