New Perfection 2400 Photo, 1660 Photo and 1260/1260 Photo scanners from Epson

Epson America presented four new scanners: Perfection 2400 Photo, Perfection 1660 Photo, and Perfection 1260/1260 Photo.

They deliver optical resolutions of 2400 x 4800 dpi, 1600 x 3200 dpi, and 1200 x 2400 dpi, respectively. All models feature 48-bit color depth.

Epson Perfection 2400 Photo is to replace the Perfection 1650 Photo model, delivering 60% faster scanning. To achieve the high quality the scanner supports Micro Step Drive for very precise stepper motor. The standard scanner package includes 35 mm slide adapter and a software kit: Adobe Photoshop Elements, EPSON Smart Panel, NewSoft OCR. The model has USB 2.0 interface; the recommended price is $229.

Epson Perfection 1660 Photo is to replace Perfection 1650. The scanner is supplied with 35 mm slide adapter and ArcSoft PhotoImpression, EPSON Smart Panel, NewSoft OCR software. The interface is USB 2.0; the recommended price — $179.

Epson Perfection 1260 will replace Perfection 1250. Epson Perfection 1260 Photo is supplied with 35 mm slide adapter; both novelties are also supplied with ArcSoft PhotoImpression, EPSON Smart Panel, NewSoft OCR software. The recommended prices are $99 and $129, respectively. Scanners are expected for sale in August 2002.
